My Pre-challenge Face-Stuffing

Unfortunately, I must admit that my main goal on the day before the challenge begins is to shovel as much food as possible into my mouth in the hopes that the memory of delicious cooked food will be enough to hold me over for 30 days. Whether this is a success is yet to be seen, but I truly do not have high hopes. I have resigned myself to the fact that this is going to be difficult and grueling, both physically and mentally, but I think I'm up for the challenge, (give me a break, who isn't optimistic before the diet actually starts?).

At least I have Molly doing it with me, even though we are 3 states apart from one another, (not the best conditions in which to ensure the other is not cheating). Hopefully, we can stay in touch through phone and computer and motivate each other to not fall off the wagon and be crushed under the wheels of cooked food. We've also put our personal touch on this challenge... only fruits and vegetables for the first week. This means that from tomorrow, Feb 6 until Friday, Feb 13, we will only be allowed fruits and vegetables and water. NOTHING ELSE. I'm hoping that this serves a double-benefit: an extra detox and the fact that the challenge can only get easier after a week of this. That way I can gain both physical and mental benefits throughout the first week and can be fully ready for week 2.

The last day of the challenge is March 7th, 2009, which is one day before my 19th birthday... and yes, I do plan on celebrating with cake... and alcohol... and maybe alcohol-flavored cake, I'll see what I can do about that one. But, I also hope to be feeling better and looking better by the time the 30 days are up.

So, here we go, on the 30-day challenge of a lifetime... a grueling test of self-discipline, will-power and tons of other not-at-all-fun things that I have to look forward to over the next 30 days. This had better make me grow as a person and what-not. Seriously. Hopefully I will be writing again tomorrow... that is, if I even have the energy to get out of bed what with the exertion of lifting my fingers to type while substisting solely on rabbit-food. Let's do this.
